MUS Attorney Ashley Wilkinson Recognized as Robert Morris University 2016 Distinguished Alumna

Meyer, Unkovic & Scott announced today that Robert Morris University School of Communications and Information Systems has selected attorney Ashley L. Wilkinson as a 2016 Distinguished Alumna.

Each year, Robert Morris University’s School of Communications and Information Systems honors high achieving alumni from all majors. Robert Morris University will recognize Wilkinson on April 10, 2016 for her accomplishments in the legal field and for the distinction she brings to her profession and the university. Wilkinson is a 2012 graduate of Robert Morris University, and received a bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in Legal Studies.

Wilkinson is an associate at Meyer, Unkovic & Scott LLP. She works with clients on litigation and dispute resolution. Prior to joining the firm, Wilkinson served as a 2014 summer associate, where she worked on a variety of issues. While in school at Duquesne University School of Law, she served as a member of the Pro Bono Urban Development Clinic.

Wilkinson has received numerous scholarships and awards, including the Hardiman Scholarship, the Honorable Carol Los Mansmann Scholarship, the Honorable Carol Los Mansmann Endowed Student Resource Fund, the Law School Scholarship for Excellence and the Outstanding Oral Argument Award. The CALI Excellence for the Future Award also recognized Wilkinson for having the highest score in her law school class in the areas of Criminal Law and Procedure, Sales, Estates and Trusts and Core Competencies II.

While in law school, Wilkinson served as treasurer of the Women’s Law Association, junior staff member and production editor of the Duquesne Law Review and student ambassador to the Dean. She also worked as a research assistant and studied abroad in the summer of 2013.

Wilkinson resides on the South Side of Pittsburgh.

MUS Promotes Attorney Antoinette Oliver to Partner

Meyer, Unkovic & Scott today announced that it has promoted attorney Antoinette Oliver to partner.

Oliver has worked as an attorney at Meyer, Unkovic & Scott since 2007. She is part of the firm’s Business Litigation, Energy & Mineral Rights Law, Insurance Coverage Litigation, Employment Law & Employee Benefits, and Intellectual Property Groups. She frequently represents clients in commercial disputes involving breach of contract, fraud, negligence, trade secrets, personal injury, products liability, insurance coverage and collection matters. She also helps clients in employment law matters and tax audits and litigation.

In addition to her business practice, Oliver manages the firm’s Landlord Tenant Project. The project is a signature mission of the Pittsburgh Pro Bono Partnership, operated in conjunction with Neighborhood Legal Services and the Allegheny County Bar Foundation. The project helps low income individuals who have been denied public housing or are facing difficulties in connection with private housing. The Allegheny County Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association each honored the successful project with their “Pro Bono Awards.”

In 2015, The Legal Intelligencer recognized Oliver as a “Lawyer on the Fast Track.” Pennsylvania Super Lawyers has also recognized Oliver to its list of “Rising Stars” each year since 2013.

Oliver earned her juris doctor in 2007 from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and was the recipient of the Dean’s Scholarship for academic achievement. While in law school, she served as editor of the Pittsburgh Journal of Environmental and Public Health Law. She graduated cum laude from Smith College in 2002. Oliver resides in Mount Lebanon.

Meyer, Unkovic & Scott Welcomes Kathryn Angliss and Stephen Chesney


Kathryn Angliss Joins Meyer, Unkovic & Scott's Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group 

Kathryn L. Angliss
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Angliss served as a Law Clerk to The Honorable Christine A. Ward in the Commerce and Complex Division of the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County.

She earned her law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2011.  She also received the University of Pittsburgh School of Law Community Service Award.

While in law school, Ms. Angliss interned for The Honorable Lisa Pupo Lenihan (Western District of Pennsylvania).

She graduated with a B.A. from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, California, in Political Science.  Prior to pursuing her legal education, Ms. Angliss worked in the Washington, D.C., office of Congresswoman Mary Bono and served as a Legislative Coordinator at the Edison Electric Institute.

Stephen Chesney Joins Meyer, Unkovic & Scott's Employment Law & Employee Benefits and the Construction Law & Litigation Groups

Stephen A. Chesney
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Chesney worked in the construction industry as a member of the Heat and Frost Insulators Local Union #2. He served three terms as an executive board member and eight years as a Trustee for the Heat and Frost Insulators Local Union #2 Pension and Annuity Funds.

He received his B.S. in Communications and Information Technology, cum laude, from Duquesne University in 2009. In 2013, he received his J.D. from Duquesne University Law School.
